Last weekend, the UMass Lowell River Hawks had an up and down weekend. The first shutout the Maine Black Bears on Friday night and then lose in overtime to the Boston University Terriers on Sunday afternoon. Both on the road.

Now the River Hawks return home for the first time in six weeks to face the Providence College Friars at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts on Friday, January 25. Puck drops at 7:15 p.m. eastern and will air live on NESN.

Friday will be special as the ice will have a pink hue, in addition to UMass Lowell wearing their new third jersey for the first time in game action. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a replica jersey t-shirt, courtesy of Mercedes Benz of Burlington.

After a hot start coming off the holiday break, UMass Lowell has only gone 1-2-0 in their last three contests. The River Hawks will look to turn things around with this home-and-home series against the Friars, beginning Friday night.

The River Hawks sit at No. 5 ranked nationally while the Friars are currently ranked No. 18 in the USCHO.com poll and received votes in the USA Today / USA Hockey Magazine poll entering the weekend.
