Rockingham Park in Salem, New Hampshire is preparing for a night full of MMA and kickboxing fights at Combat Zone 55 “Pride and Glory” on Friday, September 18.

CZ55 features a total of 14 fights, including six amateur kickboxing bouts, seven amateur MMA fights and a pro MMA main event. The event gets underway at 7:00 p.m. eastern with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

In the main eventPeter San Antonio will take on Connor Barry in a professional lightweight (155 lbs.) fight. San Antonio is currently training in Utica, New York and will be making his second trip inside the cage as a professional fighter. The 28-year-old topped Ricky Sylvester at 2:34 of the second round via arm triangle choke at Combat Zone 51 in November 2014 during his pro debut.

Barry, a junior at UMass Lowell, will be making his professional debut on Friday. He posted a standout amateur record (5-1) and was riding a three-fight win streak when he opted to turn pro.

“This is a huge opportunity for me and I am very excited to showcase my skills against a worthy opponent,” said Barry. “I have never headlined a show before, and this past year I’ve been working harder than I ever had in the past.”

Another intriguing fight on the Combat Zone 55 card is a women’s bout between Hannah Merullo (2-0) and Kerri Kenneson (0-1). Merullo was impressive during her MMA debut at Combat Zone 53 in April when she defeated Lisa Dello Russo via submission at 0:55 of the second round. The current law enforcement officer and amateur MMA fighter spent four seasons (2008-2011) at UMass Lowell on the women’s soccer team. She was named to the NE10 Conference Second Team during her junior and senior years, plus she was named to the Third Team NSCAA Division II All-East Region Team during her senior year.

The night will be full of action and won’t disappoint. The mixture of professional and amateur MMA, plus amateur kickboxing brings something for everyone.
